His words are more than inspiring, encouraging, optimistic, uplifting…..it reignited up a passion inside,
This book literally took us on a journey of self-identity that transformed from one man’s to every individual. This was powerfully purpose-filled, and breathed life into dreams;
He talks strongly about being an Initiator, I made note of every time he mentioned be the first. Not only does he just speak about doing these things he has clearly done it himself and practicing it today. He’s not just talking it, but walking it. I love how he incorporated into his story his struggle, vision, journey and included those of others and then ending with profound reflective thought. This book prompts you to act, I feel this book spoke specifically to me especially with my search for scholarships, but it also speaks valuable truths and inspiration that could benefit anyone of any age especially when he speaks about every ending being a new beginning. I recommend this to anyone needing some direction or inspiration to ignite their passions or just to simply be a more productive individual. A priceless insight he shared on how to be a powerful thinker really resonated with me and I think will prove to be of value to many more which helped him get to where he is today.
It doesn’t get any more real than this, especially when he confronts issues that teens face today. He shows that he clearly is invested in every reader by providing an outlet with space to document their thoughts and with the several questions that prompt you to act. If you have a heart you could not help but to keep reading with all the personal connections, passion, purpose, and optimism behind it all.
Just when I thought there was no more he could say that I did not already know, he surprised me and challenged my thinking. It was Mind altering. It’s not often you here about Steve Jobs flunking out-makes me alter my perception of how we often judge those we see flunking out, but why and how can we when there is really no real comparison . It altered my view of many circumstances when considering “being your best” what it really means to be your best in whatever circumstance. This book really helps a person like me see more value in their identity and uniqueness he or she contains.
I appreciated the reflective aspect that gave time to ponder over all the insight that was given, closer examination of hidden truths, and the tools mentioned to implement such as the electronic calendar. I currently use Google calendar. It wasn’t until I started using it that I realized how much I really needed it as well as micromanaging key elements that he mentioned.
This book literally lifted my energy. I could not sit still. I was rocking my chair while so many thoughts were spiraling through my head with every call to action. It fueled my energy and I love the passion through his poetry.
I can definitely see myself referring back to this quite a bit whenever I need a little more direction and encouragement.

Read information about the authorI won over 1.25 million dollars worth in scholarships during his senior year of high school. My motivation for applying for scholarships started when I made a deal with my mother at the ripe age of 5. The deal was that if I received a full ride to college, she would buy me a brand new Corvette, my favorite car in a video game.
I am now finishing up my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan. My likes include cars, playing video games, listening to music of all kinds, and writing poetry.
I strongly believe in the power of setting goals that lead to unlocking dreams. I spend time mentoring students and speaking at scholarship events in order to encourage students to simply believe in themselves because it can be difficult to achieve value or satisfaction from the approval of your peers.
